Fundraising

Fundraising is so often about good storytelling - identifying and articulating why what you’re doing deserves support, and then ensuring that story is clearly told to the right people at the right time. I can help develop a forward-thinking fundraising strategy, complete trust & foundation bids on your behalf, or help kickstart a regular giving initiative to ensure you’re able to deliver the work at the heart of your organisation.

Programming

I am experienced in programming classical music at a chamber and symphonic level and have a broad and curious knowledge of repertoire. I am excited by programmes that tell a coherent story across a season, and place familiar classics alongside innovative modern forms, and music beyond the western classical tradition.

My approach to programming ensures a close dialogue with the creatives as well as with the teams involved in the logistical delivery, marketing and fundraising to ensure finalised plans are as viable as they are visionary.

Project Management

Whatever you’re working on - whether it’s delivering large-scale international tours, facilitating online workshops or organising multi-disciplinary live events - I can oversee your project from conception through to evaluation, ensuring timely delivery, a positive, collaborative process and a healthy bottom line.

Creative Producing

I have extensive experience producing classical music and opera and thrive on work which is as creative as it is fiscally and logistically disciplined. I take the responsibility of public funding very seriously and am proud that my rigorous approach to financial management, along with a recognition of the balancing act between creative output and financial resilience, has ensured all the projects and productions I have managed have been delivered within budget.

I can work with you as a creative producer, supporting your creative, technical and artistic teams in the delivery of work they are proud of, while ensuring the logistical and financial elements of the jigsaw puzzle are calmly and efficiently managed.

Concert Stagings

Programming opera without the infrastructure of an opera house to support your production can be both daunting and disproportionately laborious. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. When done right, concert stagings can be our most impactful, potent way of sharing opera with our audiences. I can support you as both producer and a stage director, managing the creative and logistical elements of the entire process, and making the absolute most of limited time, and resources.

Dramaturgy

At the heart of all the work I do is a profound belief in the transformative power of storytelling. I work as an opera dramaturg with a focus on ensuring the story you want to be telling is actually being told. Whether you’re developing a new production of a seasoned classic, or crafting a new opera, I can support you in ensuring all your narrative threads are woven intentionally into the fabric of the piece.

The creative process varies person to person and is often an intensely personal one. A positive, supportive, trusting relationship between writer / composer / director and dramaturg is therefore hugely important. I like working collaboratively but I know when to step back - this is your story, I’m just here to help you tell it in the best way possible.
